that Magistrates would, by virtue of this

amendment, have to take the judicial oath in the

form set out in Section 4 with the words "Justice

of the Peace" inserted in the second blank space.

At present presumably they use the word

"Magistrate" which apparently covers Justices of

the Peace. If they take the oath as Justices

of the Peace it appears that their duties as

Magistrate would not all be covered.

Incidentally, it is open to question

whether Section 11 is valid in so far as it

relates to members of the Legislative Council

and Executive Council who, under Articles V and VI

of the Letters Patent of 1917, hold office during

H.M's pleasure.
